Praise Report on what God is doing in Iraq and souls receiving His salvation!

Greetings everyone,

from time to time I post in different links messages of Praise on God's blessings to outreaches around the World witnessing His good news to souls in every language, nationality and race. The reason I do that is to enlarge our own vision of God's blessings through our witnessing efforts and ministry to others in our small limited ways and to share praises of God's 'total picture' of His harvest. So, here is another Praise report from what God is doing in Iraq through World Missionary Press. As I shared here before all literature are sent free of charges -sometimes even they pay for postages when the ministry cannot afford the expenses too...

This past Monday we were blessed by a visit from Pastor Ghassan Thomas from a dynamic church in Baghdad, Iraq. He shared about his 1,000-member growing church--10-15 people are accepting Christ each week!--and that there are 17 new churches in Baghdad and 30 throughout the country of Iraq. (There were just two churches in Saddam Hussein's day.)

He reported that all the literature from the 20-ft. container WMP sent three years ago has been dispersed.

World Missionary Press materials are passed out to disgruntled drivers who have to wait two days to fill up their gas tanks! They are distributed in Samaritan Purse's gift shoe boxes and at clinics and through churches as members go door to door. Even people of the M faith accept our green Arabic New Testaments with respect. When asked if he needed more booklets, Ghassan said with his heart-touching smile that they are out and he would "wish" for more.

This is an answer to prayer--we have been praying for another opportunity to ship a container of God's Word to Iraq. Plans are now underway to send a 40-foot container with 2,000 boxes of Arabic New Testaments, 1,950 boxes of Arabic Scripture booklets, and 200 boxes of Arabic salvation coloring books to Iraq. We need to produce this literature quickly because Brother Ghassan would like the container in Baghdad by early November. (So we must ship it by early September.)

He has requested to keep the container itself, both for storage and for added protection from car bombs!

In a miraculous and amazingly quick way, God has funded this entire project--at a cost of more than $80,000--through a sensitive-spirited and generous couple who "happened" to be visiting WMP the day that Ghassan Thomas came to share with us. They were touched by this urgent need and wonderful opportunity.

Please pray for production to go smoothly through July and August for this Iraq container, and pray that the container will safely reach its destination early in November. A youth pastor who heard Pastor Ghassan's chapel talk eagerly offered his 115-member youth group to volunteer with extra production. Other groups have expressed willingness to help as well.

God is at work in thrilling ways to reach hurting people with the healing power of His Word.
