Praise Report on what God is doing in Iraq and souls receiving His salvation!
Greetings everyone,
from time to time I post in different links messages of Praise on God's blessings to outreaches around the World witnessing His good news to souls in every language, nationality and race. The reason I do that is to enlarge our own vision of God's blessings through our witnessing efforts and ministry to others in our small limited ways and to share praises of God's 'total picture' of His harvest. So, here is another Praise report from what God is doing in Iraq through World Missionary Press. As I shared here before all literature are sent free of charges -sometimes even they pay for postages when the ministry cannot afford the expenses too...
*** Awesome news!
This past Monday we were blessed by a visit from Pastor Ghassan Thomas from a dynamic church in Baghdad, Iraq. He shared about his 1,000-member growing church--10-15 people are accepting Christ each week!--and that there are 17 new churches in Baghdad and 30 throughout the country of Iraq. (There were just two churches in Saddam Hussein's day.)
He reported that all the literature from the 20-ft. container WMP sent three years ago has been dispersed.
World Missionary Press materials are passed out to disgruntled drivers who have to wait two days to fill up their gas tanks! They are distributed in Samaritan Purse's gift shoe boxes and at clinics and through churches as members go door to door. Even people of the M faith accept our green Arabic New Testaments with respect. When asked if he needed more booklets, Ghassan said with his heart-touching smile that they are out and he would "wish" for more.
This is an answer to prayer--we have been praying for another opportunity to ship a container of God's Word to Iraq. Plans are now underway to send a 40-foot container with 2,000 boxes of Arabic New Testaments, 1,950 boxes of Arabic Scripture booklets, and 200 boxes of Arabic salvation coloring books to Iraq. We need to produce this literature quickly because Brother Ghassan would like the container in Baghdad by early November. (So we must ship it by early September.)
He has requested to keep the container itself, both for storage and for added protection from car bombs!
In a miraculous and amazingly quick way, God has funded this entire project--at a cost of more than $80,000--through a sensitive-spirited and generous couple who "happened" to be visiting WMP the day that Ghassan Thomas came to share with us. They were touched by this urgent need and wonderful opportunity.
Please pray for production to go smoothly through July and August for this Iraq container, and pray that the container will safely reach its destination early in November. A youth pastor who heard Pastor Ghassan's chapel talk eagerly offered his 115-member youth group to volunteer with extra production. Other groups have expressed willingness to help as well.
God is at work in thrilling ways to reach hurting people with the healing power of His Word.

** TORNADO DESTROYS AG CHURCH, BUT OPENS MINISTRY DOORS
Last year, Pastor Christa Zapfe called the 45-member congregation of Lighthouse Worship Center Assembly of God in Greensburg, Kansas, to 40 days of fasting and prayer. Afterward, she encouraged the parishioners to write what the Holy Spirit had spoken to their hearts. They wrote words such as "healing," "transformation," "restoration" and "protection."
Just as the biblical Joshua instructed the priests to gather stones to build a monument after crossing the Jordan River, Zapfe transferred the congregation's words to bricks and placed them inside the church. "We did not worship the bricks," she says, "but they were a reminder of God's faithfulness."
When a 205-mph tornado ripped through Greensburg on May 4, about 95 percent of the town was destroyed, including the church. But the bricks remained untouched.
Zapfe says the bricks will be used when the church is rebuilt - as a symbol of the Lord's protection. "We know God was with us," she says. No members of the Assemblies of God church in the town of 1,500 perished.
Lighthouse Worship Center plans to erect a tent on the church's property as a temporary sanctuary, while a new facility is constructed.
The Kansas District of the Assemblies of God, led by Superintendent Terry Yancey, responded quickly to the disaster, along with ministries such as Convoy of Hope plus teams of workers from across Kansas, Mississippi, Louisiana and elsewhere. A large tent was erected to serve as a feeding station for the community. More than 800 hot meals a day were served.
As residents descended on the feeding station, members of Zapfe's congregation ministered to them. Meanwhile, church-based clean-up crews, coordinated by presbyter Dwight Dozier, helped with the removal of debris.
When Steve Irwin and Paul Coroleuski, Convoy of Hope's disaster response coordinators, first arrived on the scene they saw complete devastation.
"Telephone poles and trees were snapped like toothpicks, cars were overturned and thrown everywhere, and virtually no buildings were
standing," Irwin says. "It was a city of rubble.
"God has given the church here and Pastor Christa great favor," Irwin, fighting back tears, relates. "We've gone street by street passing out drinks and sharing the love of Christ with people who were rummaging through the debris that was once their homes. People are so thankful."
Irwin is heartened by the cooperation across denominational and ministry lines. "No one is trying to bring glory to their own organization or church," he says. "They're working to lift up the name of Christ." An estimated 1,800 people gathered for a
nondenominational community church service on Sunday, May 13. The service included clergy speakers from various local congregations providing optimism and encouragement in the midst of calamity.
"We are a scattered, dispersed community," said Gene McIntosh, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Greensburg. "But the Lord Jesus is our Redeemer and is with us. 'Do not fear for I am with you,' says the Lord."
"Trust in the Lord with all your strength," said Tim Henning, pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Greensburg.
Zapfe reminded residents and relief workers of God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11: "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"
When Zapfe looks across Greensburg, she sees more than rubble and a town that needs to be rebuilt; she sees an opportunity to rebuild lives.
"We need to pray that people's lives will be transformed for Jesus," Zapfe says.

Controlling your Tongue - 52 in 2007 Basic Bible Truths study July 8-14

you:
Controlling the Tongue by Dr. Larry Ollison - 52 in 2007 BASIC BIBLE TRUTHS Study July 8-14:
James 1:26 says, “If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.”
Your mouth can cause you to make your religion useless. You can go to church every week and be a Bible scholar, but if your mouth is speaking envy, strife, and hatred, your mouth will cause your religion to be worthless.
You do not access the spirit realm and the throne of God with your religion. You access the spirit realm and the throne of God with your words of faith.
Second Corinthians 4:13 says, “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak.”
The spirit of faith operates this way. You believe it, and you speak it. You will speak what you really believe. That is why it is so important to watch the words of your mouth and the meditations of your heart (Psalm 19:14).
Let me tell you about an incident I saw. A Christian lady approached another Christian lady for prayer. She prayed what appeared to be a prayer of faith. A few moments later I heard the lady who prayed tell another person that the lady she had just prayed for was in great pain and needed to be healed. She also told that person to continue praying so that the lady would be healed.
This is a great example of how a prayer can appear to be in faith, but not be. Faith is in the heart and the mouth. A confession or prayer without belief in the heart is not a faith confession or a prayer of faith. A positive confession is good, but a confession of faith is where the power is.
Did you follow what happened here? A few minutes ago, this sister had prayed for this lady to be healed in the name of Jesus. The Word says, if we pray in faith, we are to believe we have received what we prayed for. But within moments, her confession was that the lady she prayed for was in a lot of pain and still needed healing. Without saying it directly, she confessed that healing had not taken place.
What does this mean? It means when it came down to it, the person who was praying didn’t really believe in her heart that God had done what she prayed for Him to do. Out of the abundance of her heart, her mouth eventually spoke.
If we aren’t careful, we could find ourselves doing the same thing. What we say we are believing for, we could unconsciously deny with our own words. When we are believing for something, we may be affirming and confirming our faith one moment and later denying it by the way we use our words.

Controlling the Tongue by Dr. Larry Ollison - 52 in 2007 BASIC BIBLE TRUTHS Study July 8-14:
James 1:26 says, “If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.”
Your mouth can cause you to make your religion useless. You can go to church every week and be a Bible scholar, but if your mouth is speaking envy, strife, and hatred, your mouth will cause your religion to be worthless.
You do not access the spirit realm and the throne of God with your religion. You access the spirit realm and the throne of God with your words of faith.
Second Corinthians 4:13 says, “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak.”
The spirit of faith operates this way. You believe it, and you speak it. You will speak what you really believe. That is why it is so important to watch the words of your mouth and the meditations of your heart (Psalm 19:14).
Let me tell you about an incident I saw. A Christian lady approached another Christian lady for prayer. She prayed what appeared to be a prayer of faith. A few moments later I heard the lady who prayed tell another person that the lady she had just prayed for was in great pain and needed to be healed. She also told that person to continue praying so that the lady would be healed.
This is a great example of how a prayer can appear to be in faith, but not be. Faith is in the heart and the mouth. A confession or prayer without belief in the heart is not a faith confession or a prayer of faith. A positive confession is good, but a confession of faith is where the power is.
Did you follow what happened here? A few minutes ago, this sister had prayed for this lady to be healed in the name of Jesus. The Word says, if we pray in faith, we are to believe we have received what we prayed for. But within moments, her confession was that the lady she prayed for was in a lot of pain and still needed healing. Without saying it directly, she confessed that healing had not taken place.
What does this mean? It means when it came down to it, the person who was praying didn’t really believe in her heart that God had done what she prayed for Him to do. Out of the abundance of her heart, her mouth eventually spoke.
If we aren’t careful, we could find ourselves doing the same thing. What we say we are believing for, we could unconsciously deny with our own words. When we are believing for something, we may be affirming and confirming our faith one moment and later denying it by the way we use our words.

FREE SCRIPTURE BOOKLETS TO GIVE OUT FROM WORLD MISSIONARY PRESS
Greetings,
I received email from Jay Benson, President of World Missionary Press. The World Missionary Press offer FREE Scripture booklets to every ministry that request them: http://www.wmpress.org/index.shtml
Rejoice with us! WMP reaches its 46th birthday July 7, the date of incorporation in the State of Indiana in 1961. Praise God for His faithful protection and provision for this worldwide Scripture ministry during all these years!
We have been praying for a "quantum leap in income and a quantum leap in production" to more adequately respond to the awesome open doors before us. God is responding!
• Our booklets have now been produced in 320 languages.
• May and June in-plant production equivalencies were strong—6,722,800 and 7,706,500 respectively.
• In addition, we've been printing one million booklets per month in India since March.
• Other overseas printings are taking place in Thailand, Nepal, Myanmar, and Indonesia.
• Construction has begun on a 60' x 100' Shipment Workspace addition, scheduled to be completed by September.
• Yesterday a donation for $8,500 reached us to finance a Yale electric lift truck and charger.
• Income has been encouraging in recent months.
God is at work through World Missionary Press in the cause of reaching millions with His powerful Word. And you are a vital part of what's happening. Your prayers and support are very important to us.

"Touch with Hope" - how to adapt outreach to single moms through local churches

Just want to share with you ways to reach out to single moms through out local churches and ministries by adapting ideas from this outreach packet from the Assemblies of God Women's Ministries email I received today:

** RESOURCE HELPS LOCAL CHURCHES MEET NEEDS
Assemblies of God Women's Ministries is helping local churches meet the needs of single moms through "Touch With Hope."
The "Touch With Hope Ministry Packet" networks congregations with agencies that can help single mothers and suggests resource ideas churches can offer such as life skill classes.
"It's a very practical way of helping the local church find out what's available to single moms," says National Women's Ministries Director Arlene Allen. "But beyond that, it is a mentoring program."
The one-year mentoring program pairs single mothers with mature Christian women for the purpose of growing as Christians and as mothers. Sharon Ferguson, director of "Touch With Hope" at Revival Outreach Center International Church, Northville, Michigan, says mentorship relationships often continue beyond the one-year commitment and have lasting results.
"We've seen two single moms in their 40s who, as a result of getting involved with mentoring, have gone back to college," Ferguson says.
The mission of "Touch With Hope" is to provide a Christ-focused ministry for single mothers in need and to identify resources to help these women reach and maintain self-sufficiency.
